This action makes them effective for treating a range of digestive issues, including heartburn, a feeling of fullness after meals, and loss of appetite. The medicine is also used to treat heartburn in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) who have not responded well to other treatments. Metoclopramide is a dopamine D2 antagonist that works in the brain to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by conditions like migraines, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy.
